Connected Trip Privacy Policy

This Policy is intended to be read together with our Terms of Use and Cookie Policy. The examples below are illustrative; the information actually processed depends on the products and features you use.

Section 01

Scope and who we are

Connected Trip is a travel search, discovery and technology platform operated by Asian Airfares Group, LLC, a San Francisco–based company. In this Policy, “Connected Trip,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to Asian Airfares Group, LLC and the Connected Trip services it operates.

This Policy applies to ConnectedTrip.com, its subdomains, applications, communications, accounts and Connected Trip–branded services that link to this Policy. A separate privacy notice may apply to a product or affiliate website that publishes its own policy.

For personal information that we determine how and why to process, Asian Airfares Group, LLC acts as the controller or business. Travel providers, booking partners and other third parties may separately act as controllers or businesses for information they receive directly or through a reservation flow.

Section 02

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the services, we may collect the following categories:

  • Identifiers and contact information: name, email address, telephone number, account identifier, username and authentication information.
  • Travel and commercial information: destinations, dates, traveler counts, searches, selected travel products, booking or referral details, preferences, loyalty information you choose to provide and support history.
  • Communications: messages, feedback, survey answers, promotion entries, subscription choices and correspondence with support.
  • Device, internet and network activity: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language, referring URLs, page views, session activity, approximate timestamps, error logs and security events.
  • Location information: approximate location inferred from IP address and, only with device or browser permission, more precise location used for features such as nearby travel results.
  • Preferences and inferences: language, currency, saved settings, likely interests and recommendations derived from searches or interactions.
  • Payment, identity and travel-document information: a booking provider may request payment-card details, billing address, passport information or other documentation needed for a reservation. Connected Trip does not necessarily receive or store this information when it is entered directly with a third-party provider.
Sensitive information. Please do not send passports, payment-card numbers, health information or other sensitive documents by ordinary email. When sensitive information is required for a travel service, submit it only through the secure form provided by the relevant booking or travel provider.
Section 03

Sources of information

We may obtain personal information:

  • directly from you when you search, create an account, contact us, subscribe or use a feature;
  • automatically from your browser or device through logs, cookies and similar technologies;
  • from travel providers, booking partners and support providers in connection with a referral, reservation or service request;
  • from authentication, analytics, advertising, fraud-prevention and technology providers;
  • from affiliate companies and Connected Trip products, subject to applicable law and this Policy; and
  • from public or commercially available sources where lawful.
Section 04

How we use information

We use personal information for legitimate business and service purposes, including to:

  • provide search, discovery, account, referral, reservation-support and trip-related features;
  • display relevant travel options and remember language, currency, location and preference settings;
  • send service messages, confirmations, requested alerts and responses to inquiries;
  • personalize content and improve the relevance and usability of our services;
  • operate, measure, debug, maintain and improve websites, applications and infrastructure;
  • detect fraud, abusive automation, security threats and violations of our Terms;
  • comply with law, enforce agreements and establish or defend legal claims;
  • create aggregated or de-identified insights that do not reasonably identify an individual; and
  • send marketing where permitted, subject to your ability to unsubscribe or withdraw consent.

We will not use personal information for a materially different, unrelated or incompatible purpose without providing appropriate notice and, where required, obtaining consent.

Section 06

How we disclose information

We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients, only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy:

  • Travel and booking providers: airlines, hotels, property managers, car-rental companies, activity and venue providers, online travel agencies, reservation platforms and related support providers.
  • Service providers: hosting, cloud, security, customer support, email delivery, authentication, payments, fraud prevention, analytics and other technology vendors acting for us.
  • Affiliates: companies and products within the Connected Trip or Asian Airfares Group corporate structure, consistent with applicable law.
  • Advertising and analytics partners: where enabled and permitted, identifiers and activity used to measure performance, understand audiences or deliver relevant advertising.
  • Authorities and legal recipients: courts, regulators, law enforcement or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety and security.
  • Business transaction recipients: prospective or actual buyers, investors, lenders, advisers or successors involved in a merger, financing, reorganization, sale or transfer, subject to appropriate safeguards.
  • Other parties at your direction: when you request or consent to the disclosure.

We may also disclose aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you. We do not attempt to re-identify information that has been properly de-identified, except to test whether our de-identification processes comply with law.

Section 07

Travel providers and booking partners

Connected Trip helps users discover travel products and may redirect users to, embed services from, or facilitate interactions with independent travel and booking providers. Those providers determine their own prices, availability, booking terms, cancellation policies and privacy practices.

When you continue to a provider or submit information in a provider-powered reservation flow, that provider may collect personal information directly or receive information needed to complete or support the requested service. Its privacy policy and terms govern its processing. Review them before submitting payment or travel-document information.

Important distinction: Connected Trip’s role can vary by product. We may act as a search or referral platform, while the identified third-party travel provider is responsible for the reservation and associated traveler data.
Section 08

Cookies, analytics and similar technologies

We and permitted partners may use cookies, local storage, pixels, software development kits and similar technologies to:

  • keep services functional and secure;
  • remember preferences and session choices;
  • measure traffic, performance and feature use;
  • understand referrals and marketing effectiveness; and
  • provide or measure advertising where permitted.

Some technologies are necessary for the requested service. Where required, optional analytics or advertising technologies are used only after appropriate consent. You may adjust browser settings, use available cookie controls, withdraw consent or review our Cookie Policy. Blocking certain technologies may affect site functionality.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because there is not one universally adopted interpretation of browser “Do Not Track” signals, our response may vary. Where applicable law requires it, we recognize qualifying browser-based opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) as a request to opt out of sale or sharing for the browser or device that sends the signal.

Section 09

Sale, sharing and targeted advertising

Connected Trip does not sell personal information for money. Some U.S. state laws use “sale” or “sharing” more broadly and may treat disclosures of cookie identifiers or online activity to advertising or analytics partners as a sale, sharing or targeted advertising.

Where such activities apply, you may opt out by enabling GPC in a supported browser or by emailing info@connectedtrip.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.” We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about an individual. If this practice changes, we will provide the notices and choices required by law.

Section 10

Artificial intelligence and personalization

Connected Trip may use automated systems, machine learning or artificial intelligence to interpret searches, match destinations or properties, rank results, personalize recommendations, detect fraud and support users. Inputs may include the information you provide, travel preferences and interactions with the services.

Recommendations are informational and may not reflect every available option. We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you unless we provide required notice, a lawful basis and any rights required by applicable law.

Do not enter sensitive personal information, payment-card numbers or confidential documents into open-ended AI or chat fields unless the interface specifically requests that information through a secure process.

Section 11

Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to provide services, maintain security and business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and meet legal, tax, accounting or regulatory obligations.

Retention periods vary based on the type of information, the sensitivity and risk of harm, the product used, whether an account remains active, legal limitation periods and requirements imposed by our providers or law. When information is no longer needed, we delete, anonymize or securely isolate it, subject to backup cycles and lawful exceptions.

Section 12

Information security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. Measures may include encryption in transit, access controls, logging, monitoring, data minimization, security testing and provider oversight, appropriate to the nature of the information and service.

No website, transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for protecting account credentials and for notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. We will provide legally required notices if a qualifying security incident occurs.

Section 13

International data transfers

Connected Trip operates from the United States and works with travel and technology providers around the world. Personal information may therefore be processed in countries whose privacy laws differ from those where you live.

Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions, contractual protections including standard contractual clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism. Travel providers may make independent international transfers under their own policies.

Section 14

If we cannot verify a request or an exception applies, we may deny it and explain why. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

California residents

California residents may have the rights to know, access, correct and delete personal information; opt out of sale or sharing; limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; receive information about categories of collection, sources, purposes and disclosures; and receive equal service when exercising rights. The table above provides our notice of categories, purposes, recipients and retention criteria.

We do not offer financial incentives for personal information. If we introduce a qualifying program, we will provide separate terms and a good-faith value assessment before enrollment.

Section 16

EEA, UK and Swiss users

If the GDPR, UK GDPR or Swiss data-protection law applies, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent, plus rights concerning certain automated decisions. You may lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority where you live or work or where you believe an infringement occurred.

We generally respond to valid GDPR or UK GDPR requests without undue delay and within one month, subject to permitted extensions. Contact us first so we can try to address your concern. Connected Trip has not represented in this Policy that it maintains an establishment or appointed representative in every jurisdiction.

Section 17

Children’s privacy

Connected Trip is a general-audience travel service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If we learn that we have done so, we will take reasonable steps to delete the information.

A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information may contact us. Additional age thresholds or parental-consent requirements may apply in some countries. We do not knowingly sell or share for targeted advertising the personal information of consumers under 16.

Section 18

Third-party websites and services

Our services contain links to and integrations with third-party websites, applications, social platforms, maps, authentication tools, travel providers and booking services. We do not control their privacy or security practices. This Policy does not govern information collected directly by those parties, and a Connected Trip link or integration does not by itself mean we endorse every practice of the third party.

Review the applicable third-party policy before submitting personal information. If you connect a third-party account, the information we receive depends on your settings and the permissions you approve.

Section 19

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our services, technology, providers, law or business practices. We will post the revised Policy here and update the “last updated” date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where required, such as a prominent website notice or an email to an account address.

Your privacy choices made before an update will continue to be respected as required by law. Review this page periodically for current information.
